Tips on caring for your jewelries

Jewelry is one of the preliminary obsessions of women. Even a pair of small earrings can make a woman happy. Nevertheless, while women love to posses ornaments of different styles and types, a number of them do not know how to take care of their most loved obsession. Here is a list of instructions  on jewelry care for women who are not aware of it. Watch out.

Keep away from sun

Jewellers  Cannock says that after buying any ornaments  from the counter or from Jewellery Sales,  you should never leave your gems and bejeweled ornaments in places where they remain exposed to direct rays of sun throughout the day.  The harsh rays can cause discoloration in the metal and changes in the color of the gems.

Avoid extremities of temperature

Exposing your jewelries to extreme heat or extreme cold can be dangerous. The metal based ornaments can crack or get discolored. On the other hand, as a result of prolonged exposure to extreme heat and cold  the gems in bejeweled ornaments can also show change of color over the time. At times, you might even find deep crack in your most favorite gems. In case your necklace or earrings have pearls studded in them, exposure to extreme temperature can make them dry, discolored and fragile.

Refrain from direct contact with chemicals

Making your jewels and ornaments get into contact with chemicals can be detrimental for their aesthetic appearance.  It has been seen that precious metals like platinum, silver and gold tend to discolor and become tarnished when they come into contact with chemicals. If you are feeling assured that as you do not use any chemical so there is no chance that your ornaments can get damaged, it is incorrect.  You might not know this; some of the kitchen products like the bottle of vinegar and soy sauce, and household products like floor cleaners, bathroom cleaners and phenyl contains chemicals that are vulnerable for your previous ornaments.
